Quinoa Breakfast


Quinoa Breakfast

Quinoa makes a delicious breakfast cereal. Add your favorite fruits, nuts, a splash of milk (your choice) or a dollop of yoghurt and you have yourself a substantial breakfast that will get you through the morning.

Total time: 24 minutes
Ingredients:
1 cup of quinoa rinsed and drained
2 cups of water

Preparation:
1. Place one cup of quinoa in a sauce pan then rinse the quinoa in water and drain through a small sieve. Repeat the process 2 or 3 times until the water is clear.
2. Add 2 cups of water, cover the saucepan with a lid and bring to a boil.
3. When it boils reduce the heat to low and allow the quinoa to cook until all the water is gone.
4. Turn off heat, remove the lid, fluff the quinoa with a fork of serving spoon and serve.

Cook’s Note:
You can store any leftover quinoa in an airtight container in the refrigerator and use it in another meal. Try it sprinkled on a salad or mixed into a bowl of soup or steamed veggies.
